SHOKAI has long been a pioneer of urban regeneration, and is now at the heart of plans to accelerate the regeneration of this historical capital using green technology.

As the earliest real estate enterprise established in China, SHOKAI is the largest listed state-owned real estate enterprise in Beijing and one of the most important partners in the development history of the City.
The long-term relationship and the scale of development mean that that SHOKAI has delivered almost half of the modern residential projects in Beijing. The company’s asset management division  also manages a large number of public buildings in the City, leading commentators to say that “SHOKAI’s history is intrinsic in the modernisation and urbanisation of Beijing”.

Since 2013, all residential projects developed by SHOKAI have been designed and certified as having met the National Green Housing standards and now the company is at the forefront of setting even higher standards for the City.

SHOKAI’s Miyun Project will create the first Passive House community in Beijing. The 36,500 sq m project includes 207 residential units and it is the first residential development in China that has been fully certified by the Passive House Institute of Germany. The scheme also meets US LEED Gold standards and achieves 3 stars on the Chinese National Green Housing standards.

SHOKAI has also incorporated smart technology into the project. Every residence is fitted with an array of control panels and sensors, set to monitor energy consumption, heating, lighting, temperature, humidity and indoor carbon dioxide levels.

Data is displayed on the specific apps to enable residents to understand and control the living environment at any time.
